About this tour
The Colosseum Show is the largest cabaret theatre in Pattaya, built as a scaled reproduction of ancient Rome's amphitheatre. More than 1,000 seats curve around the stage in a semi-circle, so the view stays good even from the back rows. The cast is made up largely of Thailand's transgender (ladyboy) performers, and the evening is built around music, dance and costume rather than anything adult, which keeps it open to all ages.
The programme runs to about 16 acts and is loosely structured as a tour through different cultures. It opens with an Italian number, moves through other parts of Asia and the West, and includes both a Thai classical dance and a dedicated India-themed segment, which tends to draw the loudest response from Indian visitors. Production is on a large scale: a multi-level stage, full-height LED screens, choreographed lighting and frequent costume changes. The performance itself lasts roughly 70 minutes, which leaves the rest of the evening free for dinner on or near Walking Street.
What to expect:
- Pattaya's largest cabaret venue, with 1,000+ seats and clear sightlines from every tier.
- A 16-act programme spanning Thai classical dance, international numbers and an India-themed segment.
- Large-format staging: elaborate costumes, LED backdrops and a multi-level stage.
- Three seating grades (Deluxe, VIP and Gold), chosen at booking according to how close to the stage you want to sit.
- A photo session after the curtain, when the cast stays in costume for pictures with the audience.
Who it suits: The show works for families, couples and groups. There is no adult content, so children and older travellers are comfortable throughout. It makes a straightforward, air-conditioned evening out that most groups will remember without much planning on their part.
Please note: Exact showtimes shift slightly by season — typically three nightly shows running into the evening. We confirm the current timings and help you pick the best slot on WhatsApp. Photography during the live performance is usually not allowed (and flash is best avoided), but the post-show photo session with the cast is the highlight — keep a small THB note handy if you would like to tip.

Quick tips for your trip
- Which show to pick: Three performances run each night, and the middle one is the slot most families choose. Aim to be seated 20 to 30 minutes before it starts. Timings move around through the year, so check the current schedule with us before you book.
- What to wear: Smart casual is the right call. The hall is kept cold, so bring something to put on over short sleeves. Beachwear and flip-flops are out of place here, particularly in the front seating grades.
- Cameras: Photography is generally not allowed while the show is on, and flash should be avoided in any case. The time to take pictures is the photo session afterwards, when the cast poses with the audience.
- How long to set aside: Budget 1.5 to 2 hours from arrival to leaving. The performance accounts for about 70 minutes; the rest is your early arrival and the photos at the end.

Frequently asked questions
-
Can we bring young children and grandparents along?
Yes. There is no adult content, and the costumes and lighting tend to hold children's attention. The seats are fixed theatre chairs with reasonable legroom in an air-conditioned hall, so older travellers can sit through the 70 minutes without trouble. Child tickets are priced by age or height, so let us know who is in your group and we will book the correct ones.
-
Where exactly is the theatre, and how do most guests get there?
The Colosseum theatre stands on Thepprasit Road in Nongprue, between South Pattaya and Jomtien Beach. From the central hotel area it is about a 10 to 20 minute ride by Grab, metered taxi or songthaew (the local baht bus). We send the precise location once you book. If you would rather not arrange your own transport, we can add a hotel pickup for an extra charge.
-
Can we find Indian or vegetarian food close by?
Nothing is served during the 70-minute show, so plan to eat either side of it. The theatre is near South Pattaya and Jomtien, and the wider central Pattaya and Walking Street area has a good number of Indian and pure-vegetarian restaurants. A common pattern is to take the early show and sit down to an Indian dinner afterwards. Tell us your preference and we will suggest a few veg-friendly places.
-
How do the seating grades differ, and is photography allowed?
Deluxe, VIP and Gold are chosen at the time of booking. The higher grades sit you nearer the stage, but because the seating wraps around in a semi-circle, the view holds up from every grade. Cameras should stay packed away during the performance; pictures are welcome at the photo session afterwards, when the cast stays in costume.
-
What is the running time, and what does the programme actually cover?
Count on about 70 minutes of performance, made up of roughly 16 acts grouped by region: a Thai classical piece, several international numbers and an India-themed segment, danced by Thailand's ladyboy cast with heavy costumes and large stage effects. With early arrival and photos at the end, the whole outing comes to 1.5 to 2 hours.

"I did not expect such a grand show! It felt like watching a Broadway performance with a Thai twist. And the ladyboys were outstanding performers. Trip Dust also arranged our transfer on time. Loved it!"
