About this tour
King Power Mahanakhon SkyWalk occupies the upper floors of one of Bangkok's tallest towers, with its highest viewing point, the Peak, reaching 314 metres above street level. The visit pairs a fully glazed indoor observatory on the 74th floor with an open-air deck and glass-floor tray higher up, so you can see the whole city laid out from inside the air-conditioning and then step outside for the more exposed view.
The draw is the open-air 78th floor, where a section of the deck is floored entirely in glass. Standing on it, you look straight down past the side of the building to the streets below; the cars and walkways are small enough that the height registers immediately. The 74th-floor hall a few storeys down gives you the same 360-degree panorama through full-height windows, without the drop underfoot, which makes the experience workable for visitors who would rather not stand on glass.
What you will see and do
- The elevator ride up. One of the fastest passenger lifts in the world carries you to the 74th floor in roughly 50 seconds, with a short multimedia sequence on the way up.
- 74th-floor indoor observatory. Air-conditioned, with 360-degree views over the Chao Phraya River and the spread of the city. There is seating throughout, which suits older relatives and young children.
- 78th-floor open-air deck and glass tray. The glass tray here is among the largest of its kind, set 310 metres above the road. You walk out onto the glass and look directly down at Bangkok.
- Mahanakhon SkyVerse (4th floor). A digital-art walkthrough across nine rooms that combine projection, light and sound. The theme is changed periodically, and entry is part of every TripDust package.
- I-Tilt leaning ride (optional). On the 75th floor, a platform tilts guests roughly 65 degrees outward over the skyline. It is TÜV Nord certified and built by a German engineering firm. It is added only on the Tilt & Thrill packages and carries age and health restrictions.
- Sunset and city lights. Arriving in the late afternoon lets you cover the daytime view, the sunset and the first of the night lights in a single visit.
The visit works for most groups — families, couples, friends and older travellers — because lifts reach every level and the 74th-floor hall is air-conditioned with seating. Only the optional I-Tilt ride carries restrictions, set out in the note below.
Please note: The optional I-Tilt leaning ride has its own rules: children are not allowed, guests must be at least 120 cm tall and under roughly 120 kg, and anyone who is pregnant or has heart or blood-pressure concerns should skip it. The rest of the visit, including the observatory, glass tray and SkyVerse, is suitable for all ages.

Quick tips for your trip
- Opening hours: open daily, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with last admission at 6:30 PM. Allow 1.5 to 2 hours. The address is 114 Narathiwas Road, Silom, Bangrak, Bangkok.
- Best time to visit: a late-afternoon arrival on a weekday, around 5:30 PM, covers the daytime view, the sunset and the night lights in one visit, usually with fewer people. The glass tray fills up after 6 PM, so take your photos before then. The Sunset ticket includes a digital photo, which is worth having if you want a record of the visit.
- Mahanakhon SkyVerse (4th floor): many visitors head straight for the lifts, but the digital-art rooms are worth 20 to 30 minutes and are included in your package. The lift ride up is part of the experience and tends to go down well with children.
- Dress code and what to leave behind: wear closed-toe shoes, as sandals and heels are not permitted on the glass tray. Bags, backpacks and luggage are not allowed on the glass tray or the outdoor areas, and outside food and drink may not be brought inside.
- I-Tilt safety (optional ride): the 65-degree leaning ride on the 75th floor requires guests to be at least 120 cm tall and under roughly 120 kg. Children are not allowed, and anyone pregnant or with heart or blood-pressure concerns should skip it. It is added only on the Tilt & Thrill packages. Guests who do not ride can wait in the air-conditioned 74th-floor hall, which has plenty of seating.
- Getting there and weather: the BTS is the more reliable option, since it stops at the building and avoids the unpredictable road traffic. Check the Bangkok forecast first: in rain the outdoor glass tray closes, and re-entry is allowed at no extra charge.

Frequently asked questions
-
Is King Power Mahanakhon worth a visit with family?
For most groups, yes. The glass tray, the sunset window and the SkyVerse rooms give children, parents and grandparents different things to do in the same visit, and the indoor observatory keeps everyone comfortable while some of the group takes the higher, more exposed deck.
-
Daytime or sunset visit — which should we book?
The sunset slot is the more popular choice. A late-afternoon arrival lets you see the city by day, watch the sun set and then catch the night lights without coming back, and the Sunset ticket includes a digital photo. A daytime visit gives the clearest long-distance views and tends to be quieter.
-
How much time should we set aside?
Budget 1.5 to 2 hours overall: roughly 30 minutes for SkyVerse, 45 minutes in the indoor observatory, and another 30 minutes between the glass tray and the rooftop.
-
Is the visit manageable for older travellers?
It is. Lifts serve every floor, and the 74th-floor observatory is air-conditioned with seating throughout, so older travellers can take the views in comfort. The glass tray and the I-Tilt ride are optional and can be skipped entirely.
-
What happens if the outdoor glass tray is closed for weather?
When rain shuts the outdoor deck, re-entry is allowed at no extra charge. It is worth checking the Bangkok forecast beforehand, particularly during the May-to-October rainy season.
-
What is the easiest way to reach the tower?
The BTS Silom Line stops at Chong Nonsi Station; from Exit 3 the entrance is about a one-minute walk. A private taxi can be booked through TripDust for an extra charge, and we confirm the simplest route from your hotel over WhatsApp.
-
Are there vegetarian or Indian food options close by?
Since the visit runs only 1.5 to 2 hours, most guests eat before or after. The building has its own cafes and restaurants, and the wider Silom and Sathorn area has plenty of choices, including Indian and vegetarian places a short ride away. The Food-coupon package adds a THB 200 cash coupon to spend on the 74th floor.
-
Is this the tallest building in Bangkok?
It is among the tallest and best known towers in the city and holds Thailand's highest observation deck, with the Peak at 314 metres and the glass tray 310 metres above the street. A few newer buildings now stand slightly higher, but this remains the main spot for a public open-air view at this height.
-
Can we go in the evening?
The last SkyWalk admission is 6:30 PM. Arriving around 5:30 PM lets you take in the sunset first and then stay for the city at night before closing.
