About this tour
The Krabi Sea Cruise is a relaxed 4-island sunset and dinner cruise. Rather than a fast speedboat circuit, the boat moves slowly past Krabi's limestone karsts while the light turns golden, and dinner is served on board between island stops. The pace is unhurried, which is the main reason people pick it over a packed day tour.
The cruise departs in the late afternoon and takes in four well-known islands on the Andaman coast, pauses for the sunset behind the cliffs, and serves a hot dinner on the water before returning to the pier. Let us know at booking and we will arrange vegetarian food for you in advance.
What the evening covers:
- Poda Island — white sand, palm trees and a tall rock spire standing just offshore; the view most people associate with Krabi.
- Chicken Island (Koh Kai) — named after a thin rock formation shaped like a chicken's head; at low tide a sandbar connects it to the nearby islands.
- Tup Island (Koh Tup) — a tiny island with shallow, calm water that's well suited to a quick swim or snorkel.
- Phra Nang Cave & Railay — dramatic limestone cliffs and the Phra Nang cave shrine, a lovely spot to watch the sunset.
- Dinner on board — a BBQ-style spread served on the water as the light fades, with vegetarian meals arranged on request.
It works well for couples, families, and anyone who prefers a slow evening over a day of water sports. The water is usually calm, but this is still the open sea: anyone prone to seasickness should carry a tablet, and the trip is not advisable for women in late pregnancy.

Quick tips for your trip
- Recommended time to visit: Year-round, but the November–April dry season has the calmest sea and clearest skies for the sunset. The cruise is timed for golden hour, so you naturally catch the best light of the day.
- What to bring: A light layer for the evening breeze, sunglasses, sunscreen, and swimwear plus a towel if you plan to take a dip. Flip-flops are easiest on a boat.
- Photography tip: The half hour before sunset gives the best light; frame the limestone cliffs with the sun behind them for a stronger silhouette. Keep your phone in a pouch or zip pocket near the water, and brace yourself against the moving deck before you shoot.
- Good to know: This is a calm cruise, not a high-speed ride, but the route runs across open water. If you are prone to motion sickness, take a tablet roughly 30 minutes before you board.
- Recommended visit duration: Plan for an evening out — roughly 5–7 hours from late afternoon, with the boat back at the pier by around 8 PM.

Frequently asked questions
-
Will vegetarian or Indian food be available for dinner?
Yes. Dinner is cooked on board, and we can set aside vegetarian meals if you mention it when booking. Jain and specific Indian preferences can usually be handled too. Tell us about any allergies at the same time so the boat team can plan the menu around them.
-
Can children and older travellers join the cruise comfortably?
Bilkul. The boat sails at an easy pace rather than racing across the water, so children and grandparents can sit back, watch the coast and have dinner on board without strain. The usual sea-trip caution applies: anyone who gets seasick should take a tablet before boarding, and the trip is not advisable in late pregnancy.
-
Do I need to know how to swim to join?
No. The cruise, the sunset and dinner on board are the core of the trip, and none of it needs swimming. At the optional swim stop you wear a life jacket and stay in a shallow, sheltered bay, so non-swimmers can take a dip safely or simply stay on deck.
-
Which islands does the cruise cover?
It sails around four of Krabi's best-known islands — Poda Island, Chicken Island (Koh Kai), Tup Island (Koh Tup) and the Phra Nang Cave / Railay area — with the sunset viewed over the limestone cliffs before dinner is served on board.
-
Is hotel pickup included, and when does the cruise end?
Hotel pick-up and drop-off can be arranged on a paid basis — share your hotel and we'll quote it on WhatsApp; otherwise you meet the boat at the pier. The cruise runs from the late afternoon into the evening and is typically back at the pier by around 8 PM. We confirm the exact pickup time and pier with you before the trip.
