About this tour
Aquaria Phuket is Thailand's largest aquarium, holding around 6,000 marine and freshwater animals on the B1 floor of the Central Phuket Floresta mall. For Indian families it is one of the simpler outings to manage on the island. The whole venue is air-conditioned and laid out on a single flat level, with wheelchair and stroller access throughout, which suits multi-generational trips that include seniors and small children. The route runs from freshwater jungle rivers down to the deep sea, ending in a 40-metre glass tunnel where sharks and giant rays pass directly overhead. That tunnel is where most visitors take their photographs.
The galleries are arranged as a sequence of themed zones, each one stepping further from fresh water toward the open ocean:
- Mystic Forest: Thai mythology set among freshwater giants and reptiles.
- River Caves: Otters at play, plus some ancient river fish.
- Coastal Haven: Penguins and colourful reef fish.
- Station Aquarius: An interactive touch pool where children can safely handle starfish and horseshoe crabs.
- South China Sea: The largest zone, built around a 3.5-million-litre saltwater tank and the 40-metre underwater tunnel where sharks and giant stingrays pass overhead.
It is worth timing your visit around the live shows. The best known is the Mermaid Show, in which performers wearing custom silicone fins move through the main tank; it tends to draw the biggest crowd of children. Through the day you can also catch the Underwater Ballet, otter feeding, Shark Alley feeding, Stingray Bay feeding and penguin feeding. Show and feeding times are adjusted periodically, so we send the current schedule on WhatsApp before you travel, which lets you arrive in time for the ones you care about.
Is it right for you?
- For Families: A controlled indoor setting with a clear educational angle. The Station Aquarius touch pool lets children handle marine life under supervision, and the themed zones explain where each animal lives.
- For Couples: The underwater tunnel works well for quiet time and photos. Su Va Na, the in-house underwater restaurant (formerly Andasi), seats diners directly against the main tank.
- For Seniors: The flat, air-conditioned layout has no steps or climbs, so it is manageable for older travellers and anyone who tires on long walks.
Getting there is straightforward from most parts of the island: about 20 to 25 minutes by taxi or Grab from Patong Beach, and 30 to 35 minutes from Kata or Karon. The Phuket Smart Bus and the local blue songthaews both stop outside Central Phuket. Because tickets cover entry only, there is no set pickup time; you arrive whenever it fits your plans. Tickets booked through Trip Dust redeem on the spot, so you avoid the holding period that some platforms apply before entry.
Please note: Last admission is 6:00 PM. Tickets booked through Trip Dust have instant redemption — walk straight in.

Quick tips for your trip
- What to wear: the interior is held at a low temperature to protect the marine habitats. Carry a light jacket or stole, particularly for children and older travellers.
- When to arrive: check the show schedule first and plan around the Mermaid Show, which usually fills up fastest with families.
- Photography: photos and video are fine throughout, but flash must stay off, since it disturbs the animals.
- How long to allow: 1.5 to 2 hours covers the galleries at an unhurried pace; budget closer to 2.5 hours if you also want to sit through the shows and feedings.

Frequently asked questions
-
Does it work for young children and grandparents together?
It does. Everything sits on one flat, air-conditioned level with no steps, so grandparents and strollers move through without difficulty. Children tend to gravitate to the Station Aquarius touch pool, where they can hold starfish, and to the Mermaid Show. The pace is yours to set, which makes it an undemanding day out for a mixed-age group.
-
What is the travel time from Patong and the southern beaches?
Aquaria occupies the B1 floor of Central Phuket Floresta. Reckon on 20 to 25 minutes by taxi or Grab from Patong, and 30 to 35 minutes from Kata or Karon. Inside, most people spend 1.5 to 2 hours, or about 2.5 hours if they stay for the shows and feedings.
-
Are there vegetarian or Indian meal options close by?
Yes. Because the aquarium is inside Central Phuket Floresta, the mall food court and its restaurants are one escalator away, with a good range of vegetarian dishes and a handful of Indian-leaning choices. Aquaria also has its own underwater restaurant, Su Va Na, for a sit-down meal beside the main tank.
-
Can the ticket be used straight after purchase?
Yes. Bookings made with Trip Dust are valid immediately: show the mobile voucher at the gate and go in. There is none of the waiting period that a few other platforms impose between purchase and entry.
-
Are cameras and phones permitted inside?
Photos and video are allowed in every zone. The one rule is no flash, as it disturbs the animals, so switch it off before you start.
