Thailand Tour Packages from Kolkata

Kolkata sits closer to Thailand than any other major Indian city. A direct flight from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport drops you in Bangkok or Phuket in roughly 2.5 hours — less time than a train to Delhi. Trip Dust sells land packages: activities, private airport transfers, and optional hotel add-ons, all priced for families and small groups. You book your own flights (fares vary; flights are not included), and we take care of everything on the ground in Thailand.

This page covers the flights, what our packages include, which ones suit most Kolkata families, and a few practical answers about visas, food, and costs.

Flying Kolkata to Thailand: What to Expect

Kolkata (CCU) is one of the best-connected eastern Indian cities for Thailand travel. IndiGo operates direct flights year-round from CCU to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK), with multiple weekly departures. Thai Airways and Thai Vietjet Air also fly the route directly. The scheduled flying time is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours — one of the shortest international hops from any Indian metro to Thailand.

For Phuket, most travellers connect at Bangkok (BKK or DMK); the onward flight adds under 90 minutes. If you are planning a Phuket or Krabi itinerary, arriving via Bangkok and flying on is seamless — we can arrange a private transfer from Phuket Airport once you land.

Flight fares vary by season and how far ahead you book. We do not include flights in our packages — this keeps costs transparent and lets you choose your own airline, seat class, and travel dates. Add your flight cost separately when budgeting.

What Our Land Packages Include

Trip Dust land packages are built around three things: curated day activities, private airport and inter-city transfers, and the option to add hotels if you want us to handle accommodation too.

  • Activities: Coral Island snorkelling, Alcazar Show, Safari World, Phi Phi Island boat trips, James Bond Island, Elephant Nature sanctuary visits, and many more — all pre-booked so you skip queues and avoid on-the-spot price haggling.
  • Private transfers: Air-conditioned vehicle, just your group. No shared vans with strangers, no waiting around.
  • Hotels optional: Book through us for a complete package, or choose your own accommodation — our land price does not change either way.
  • Group pricing: Our packages are priced per group, making them particularly good value for a family of 4. The per-head cost drops significantly compared to booking activities individually.
  • Hindi and English support: Our team communicates in Hindi and English throughout — useful when elderly family members are travelling with you.
  • Indian and vegetarian food: We can point you to reliable Indian restaurants, pure vegetarian options, and Jain-friendly meals in every city we cover. Thailand has good vegetarian food; finding it confidently is another matter — we help.

Packages That Work Well for Kolkata Travellers

Most Kolkata families travelling to Thailand aim for 4 to 6 nights, which fits neatly into school holiday windows and limited annual leave. Here are three packages worth looking at:

  • Pattaya 4-Day Package — A focused beach-and-entertainment trip. Coral Island, Alcazar Show, and city sightseeing. Easy to manage with children; no long drives between cities.
  • Bangkok–Pattaya 5-Day Package — The most popular combination for first-time visitors from India. Bangkok temples and markets in the first half, Pattaya sea and shows in the second. Private transfers between the two cities are included.
  • Bangkok–Pattaya 6-Day Package — Same route, one extra day to add Safari World or a long-tail boat tour without feeling rushed.

If budget matters more than flexibility, look at our Smart Package which includes hotels. If you want a step up in comfort, the Luxe Package is designed for that. All prices are per group — a family of 4 travelling together pays the same as a couple on some activity bookings.

Best Time to Travel from Kolkata

The November to February window is the most reliable across all Thai destinations — dry, clear skies, comfortable temperatures in the low-to-mid 30s. Pattaya and Bangkok work year-round with some flexibility, but the sea is at its best in these cooler months.

March and April bring heat and, in northern Thailand (Chiang Mai), haze from agricultural burning. Not ideal if anyone in your group has respiratory sensitivities.

The southwest monsoon runs May to October. Phuket and Krabi see heavier rain from May onwards. Pattaya and Bangkok are more manageable through June and July if dates are fixed, but islands become harder to plan around.

For Kolkata families working around school calendars: Puja holidays (October) can coincide with the tail of monsoon in the south — Pattaya and Bangkok usually hold up better than Phuket at that time. December–January (winter break) is the safest, most comfortable window for any Thai destination.

FAQs — Thailand from Kolkata

Do Indian passport holders need a visa for Thailand?

As of mid-2026, Indian passport holders still get up to 60 days visa-free in Thailand. Thailand has approved replacing this with a 15-day stay plus a ฿2,000 visa-on-arrival, but it is pending official (Royal Gazette) publication and not yet in force. Because this is changing, always confirm the current rule with the Royal Thai Embassy before you travel — see our Thailand visa guide for Indians for the latest.

How much does a Thailand trip from Kolkata cost?

Our land packages start from around INR 13,500 for a group (see the Smart Package). This covers activities and transfers; hotels can be added. Flights from Kolkata to Bangkok are extra — fares vary by season and booking window, so budget separately for those. A family of 4 typically finds our group-priced packages significantly cheaper per head than booking each activity independently in Thailand.

Is Thailand suitable for children?

Yes, very much so. Pattaya and Bangkok are both family-friendly, with calm-water beach days, wildlife parks like Safari World, and evening shows like Alcazar that children enjoy. We can plan itineraries around pace — no forced 5am starts, no rushed multi-city hops unless you want them.

Can we get vegetarian or Jain food in Thailand?

Thailand has good vegetarian options, and in tourist areas Indian restaurants are not hard to find. Jain food (no root vegetables, no cross-contamination) requires more planning but is manageable if you know where to go. We can advise on specific restaurants in each city and flag which activity meal stops can accommodate dietary requirements.

Which airport in Thailand should we fly into from Kolkata?

For Bangkok or Pattaya itineraries, fly into Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) — it has the most direct connections from Kolkata and is the most convenient for both cities. For Phuket or Krabi, you can fly BKK and connect to Phuket (HKT) on a domestic leg, or check for any seasonal direct or one-stop options to Phuket from CCU.

Do you handle airport transfers from Bangkok airport?

Yes. Our packages include private airport transfers — we meet you at the airport arrival hall and take you directly to your hotel or first activity drop-off. No shared shuttles, no waiting for other passengers. If you are arriving late or early, let us know your flight details when you book.
