About this tour
Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden covers 600 acres about 20 to 30 minutes south of central Pattaya, and it works as well for a half-day outing as it does for plant lovers. The grounds combine formal landscaping with several built attractions, so a single visit takes in clipped French parterres, a Stonehenge replica, a valley of dinosaur models and twice-daily cultural and elephant shows. For families travelling from India it is a practical choice: the pace is relaxed, and children and grandparents can do the same loop without anyone being left out.
The park is large enough that walking all of it is impractical, so a hop-on hop-off sightseeing tram connects the main zones. These are the areas worth planning around:
- French Garden — clipped hedges, fountains and topiary modelled on the Gardens of Versailles. It is the most symmetrical part of the grounds and the easiest to photograph as a wide shot.
- Dinosaur Valley — more than 180 life-sized dinosaur models arranged through the planting, which keeps younger children occupied.
- Orchid & Cactus Gardens — extensive collections of orchids, cacti and succulents, with the orchid house worth a closer look for the range of species on display.
- Stonehenge, Butterfly Hill & the Sky Walk — a Thai-built version of the British monument, a hillside planted to attract butterflies, and a raised walkway that gives a view over the gardens below.
- Thai Cultural Show + Elephant Show — traditional dance, music and a Muay Thai demonstration, followed by a staged elephant performance. Most visitors rate this as the part of the day worth timing around.
The tram does most of the moving between zones, which is what makes the park manageable for older visitors and anyone who would rather not walk the full grounds. Check the show schedule before you arrive and build the visit around at least one session, since they run only a few times a day.
Please note: Show times: Thai Cultural Show + Elephant Show at 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM. Plan your arrival around at least one show — they're the highlight.

Quick tips for your trip
- Recommended Time to Visit: Open daily from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Arriving between 9:00 and 11:30 AM gives you cooler temperatures and thinner crowds, and weekdays are quieter than weekends. Either way, line your visit up with one of the shows.
- Show times: The Thai Cultural Show and Elephant Show run at 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM. Aim to be in your seat for at least one session.
- What to wear and carry: Most of the gardens are open-air, so closed walking shoes, a hat and sunglasses are sensible. Bring sunscreen and water, as the midday heat in this part of Thailand is strong.
- Photography Tip: Use the French Garden and Sky Walk for wide landscape shots, the orchid and cactus houses for close-ups, and Dinosaur Valley if you are photographing children.
- Recommended Visit Duration: Allow three to four hours to see the main gardens and fit in a show. With the grounds running to 600 acres, the hop-on hop-off tram is the practical way to move between sections rather than walking.

Frequently asked questions
-
Can we get vegetarian or Indian food inside the garden?
Yes. The grounds have several restaurants, one of which is an Indian kitchen serving buffet-style meals, alongside Thai and international counters, so vegetarian dishes are straightforward to find. Food is charged separately from the entry ticket, and we can point you to the right outlet on WhatsApp.
-
What is the travel time from Pattaya, and is transport included?
The garden sits roughly 20 to 30 minutes south of central Pattaya by road, just off Sukhumvit Road. Your entry ticket covers admission only. Hotel pick-up and drop-off can be added at extra cost, so message us on WhatsApp if you would like us to organise the transfer.
-
Does it work for young children and older relatives?
It does. Children tend to head straight for Dinosaur Valley and the elephant show, and the hop-on hop-off tram means older relatives can cover the 600-acre site without long walks between attractions. That mix makes it one of the more manageable Pattaya outings for a mixed-age group.
-
How much walking is involved, and can we take photographs?
Photography is allowed throughout, and the formal gardens in particular suit it. There is some walking within each zone, but the tram handles the longer distances, so you can ride to a section, explore it on foot, and ride on to the next.
-
What is the booking process, and how quickly is it confirmed?
Reservations go through Trip Dust and are confirmed on WhatsApp, with support available in Hindi and English. Booking at least 24 hours ahead is advisable. We confirm the current show timings and any combined-ticket options with you at the time of booking.
