About this tour
Pattaya Shooting Park is a licensed outdoor firing range on the edge of Pattaya, and one of the few places where Indian visitors can legally fire a real handgun or shotgun at a paper target. You do not need a licence or any prior experience. A certified instructor stays with you throughout: they explain the safety rules, load the firearm, set your stance and grip, and only then clear you to shoot. The format keeps the experience controlled, so the nerves most first-timers feel tend to settle after the first few rounds.
You shoot from your own lane on a 50-metre outdoor range, with the paper target set downrange. Rounds are usually sold in sets of 10, 25 or 50, and you choose the firearm, so a session can be a short trial run or a longer one spread across several different guns.
What you can shoot
- Handguns and pistols. A light .22 is the gentlest place to start; a 9mm pistol has noticeably more kick and noise.
- .38 revolver. The familiar six-shooter, often the first pick for people who want the classic film-style feel.
- Shotgun. The heaviest recoil of the lot, felt straight into the shoulder.
- Larger calibres on request. Heavier handguns are sometimes available, depending on what the range has loaded that day; staff will tell you the options when you arrive.
Recoil and handling vary a lot between firearms, which is the appeal of the combo packages: you fire a few different guns in one session and feel the contrast directly. You keep your paper target afterwards as a souvenir.
Who it's for
This is an adventure activity rather than a relaxed family outing. It works best for adults, couples and groups of friends looking for something out of the ordinary on a Pattaya trip. Confident teenagers can take part only under an adult; minors are never allowed to shoot on their own, and very young children cannot shoot at all, so it is not suited to small kids. Anyone who would rather not handle the loud reports and recoil can stay in the safe area to watch and film. Standard safety advice applies: skip the activity if you are pregnant or have a heart condition.

Quick tips for your trip
- Best time to go: The range usually opens daily, roughly 9 AM to 6 PM. Mornings are the most comfortable, since the lanes sit out in the open under the Pattaya sun. We confirm the timings for your date over WhatsApp.
- What to wear: Closed-toe shoes are compulsory, so leave the sandals and flip-flops behind, and choose comfortable clothing that does not restrict your arms. Keep loose scarves and long, dangling jewellery away from the firing line.
- Photos and video: You cannot hold a phone while firing, so pass it to your instructor or a friend to record from the side. The paper target you shot also makes a good keepsake to photograph.
- How long to allow: Plan for about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the number of rounds, firearms and combo packages you go for.

Frequently asked questions
-
Is a firearms licence or previous experience required?
No. You need neither a licence nor any past experience, and most people who book have never fired a gun before. A certified instructor briefs you on the safety rules, loads the firearm, sets your stance and grip, and stays beside you for every shot.
-
Can children or older family members join in?
The shooting itself is for adults and confident teenagers, not a general family outing. Minors may never shoot on their own and very young children cannot shoot at all. Older relatives and anyone not shooting are welcome to come along and watch or film from the safe area. As a precaution, give the activity a miss if you are pregnant or have a heart condition.
-
Where is the range, and what is the best way to reach it?
It is in the Huay Yai area on the southern edge of Pattaya, about 12 to 20 km and 20 to 30 minutes by road from the central beach and Walking Street, set slightly away from the main roads. A Grab or metered taxi is usually the simplest way to get there; alternatively we can set up paid hotel pick-up and drop-off over WhatsApp.
-
What firearms are on offer, and can I fire more than one?
The usual line-up includes handguns and revolvers such as a .22, a .38 revolver and a 9mm pistol, plus a shotgun, with heavier calibres available some days. Rounds come in sets of 10, 25 or 50, and combo packages are built around firing several firearms in a single session. We confirm the exact guns and packages with the range before you book.
-
What identification should I bring?
Bring your passport or a government-issued photo ID. The range checks it at the desk before you are allowed to shoot.
