Thailand Honeymoon Itinerary: A Romantic 7 Days

Thailand is one of the best-value honeymoon destinations within easy reach of India — a short flight, warm seas, beautiful islands and the kind of mix that lets you have both a few city nights and a stretch of pure beach time. Seven days is the ideal length: enough to enjoy Bangkok's buzz and a romantic dinner cruise, then move south for the islands without feeling rushed. This itinerary is paced for a couple, with downtime built in.

It works as a Bangkok-plus-island trip, ending on the beach so the honeymoon winds down rather than up. For the planning basics — when to go, what it costs — our Thailand honeymoon guide is a useful companion. Indian travellers still get up to 60 days visa-free as of mid-2026; complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card before flying and confirm the latest rules first.

Days 1–2: Bangkok

Start in Bangkok with a gentle first day to recover from the flight, then a romantic evening on the Chao Phraya dinner cruise, drifting past the floodlit temples with dinner on board. Day 2 is for the city at your own pace — the Grand Palace and Wat Pho in the cooler morning, a rooftop bar at sunset, and time to shop or simply wander. Two nights is plenty for a honeymoon; the city is the appetiser, not the main course.

Days 3–4: Phuket and the Islands

Fly south to Phuket on Day 3 and switch gears to island time. Spend Day 4 on the water with a trip to Phi Phi Island — turquoise bays, snorkelling and that famous scenery — or, for a calmer day, the longtail cruise through Phang Nga Bay to James Bond Island. Keep the evenings for a sunset dinner on the beach; Phuket does romance well once you are away from the busiest strips.

Days 5–6: Beach and Downtime

This is the heart of the honeymoon: two slow days with no agenda beyond the beach, the pool and each other. Book a couples' spa afternoon, take a private longtail to a quieter bay, or simply do nothing. If you want one more outing, a short island-hop or a sunset cruise is enough. Resist the urge to fill these days — the downtime is the point, and it is what most couples remember most fondly.

Day 7: Departure

Use the final morning for a last swim and a leisurely breakfast before transferring to Phuket airport. As with any two-city Thailand trip, an open-jaw ticket — into Bangkok, out of Phuket — saves doubling back and is usually the smartest way to book.

Making It Yours

This is a template, not a rulebook — some couples swap Phuket for the quieter beaches of Krabi, others add a Pattaya night for the dinner-and-show buzz on the way. Private transfers throughout keep it relaxed and let you travel on your own schedule, which matters more on a honeymoon than any other trip. Tell us your style and budget and we will shape the itinerary around the two of you, or start from our wider Bangkok and Phuket package and stretch it by a day.

Frequently asked questions

Is 7 days enough for a Thailand honeymoon?

Yes — seven days is ideal. Two nights in Bangkok cover the city and a romantic dinner cruise, and four or five nights on the islands give you island tours plus real downtime. If you want to add Krabi or a second island, stretch it to nine or ten days.

Which part of Thailand is most romantic?

The southern islands — Phuket and especially the quieter beaches of Krabi — are the most romantic, with sunset dinners, private longtail trips and spa afternoons. Bangkok adds a stylish city contrast at the start, particularly the dinner cruise and rooftop bars. Most honeymooners pair the two.

When is the best time for a Thailand honeymoon?

November to February offers the best weather across both Bangkok and the islands — dry, clear and comfortable. The shoulder months either side are quieter and cheaper. Avoid the heaviest monsoon weeks on the Andaman coast if beach time is the priority; we can advise on dates.
