Will it work for young children and older travellers in the family?

Yes, it's a common family visit. The shows and the animals hold children's attention, and the stone-park paths are flat and easy to walk for older guests. For close shots of the animals, use your camera or phone zoom instead of reaching past the barriers, both for your safety and for the animals'.

Do tickets need to be reserved ahead, and what are the opening hours?

About this tour

The Pattaya Crocodile Farm combines three things on one ticket: thousands of crocodiles, a small zoo of other animals, and a stone park built around rock and petrified-wood formations dated at over a hundred million years old. The day is organised around the live crocodile shows, where trainers handle adult animals at close range, but most visitors spend as much time walking the gardens and watching the white tigers, elephants and giraffes as they do at the show ring.

Crocodile shows — Trainers work with adult crocodiles bare-handed, putting hands and heads near the animals. Shows run several times a day; you watch from a tiered spectator area.

When to go: The farm opens year-round. Aim for the morning, between 9:00 AM and noon, to walk the grounds before the midday heat and to catch an early show. During the monsoon months (May to October), rain tends to come in the afternoon, so an early start helps.
What to wear: Light, comfortable clothing and shoes you can walk in. Skip loose, flowing garments and dangling accessories, since much of the visit is outdoors and close to the animal enclosures.
