About this tour

Safari World Bangkok covers more than 200 acres on the city's eastern edge and splits into two distinct parts: an open-air Safari Park you drive through, and a Marine Park you explore on foot. The wildlife and the daily shows are the main draw, but for many Indian visitors the deciding factor is the sit-down Indian buffet served inside the park. Snack wagons and food stalls are spread across both areas.

Safari Park: the drive-through section

The Safari Park is an 8 km loop laid out like an African savannah, with the animals roaming loose around the road. Along the way you pass Bengal tigers, lions, rhinos and large herds of giraffes and zebras. This zone is vehicle-only; you are not allowed to walk through it.

  • Private car: with your own vehicle you drive the loop at your own pace and stop wherever you like.
  • Safari Coach: if you arrive without a car, the park runs a Safari Coach for a fee paid on the day. It's a guided circuit of roughly 30 to 45 minutes, with plenty of stops for photos.

Marine Park: shows and animal encounters

The Marine Park is the side you walk through, with aviaries, aquatic exhibits and the live shows the park is known for, all covered by your entry ticket. Performances run at set times through the day:

  • Dolphin Show: the most popular of the lot, so it pays to take your seat early.
  • Sea Lion & Elephant Shows: gentle and slower-paced, which suits younger children.
  • Spy War Stunt Show: an action set piece built around explosions and water stunts.
  • Orangutan Boxing: a short comedy act, usually scheduled early in the morning.
  • Bird Show & Cowboy Stunt: free-flying birds and a Wild West stunt routine.
  • Giraffe Feeding Terrace: a raised platform where you feed the giraffes by hand at head height, and one of the better photo spots in the park.

The park sets the show times and they change from time to time, so we send you the current schedule on WhatsApp and help you order your day around the ones you most want to see.

Optional extra: the River Safari Ride

Despite the name, this is a boat ride of about 30 minutes through a staged jungle of animatronic figures, lighting effects and a few live animals. It's an add-on you can select when you book rather than part of the standard ticket. The theatrical setting tends to go down well with children, and there are good photo moments along the route.

Food for Indian visitors

On a full day at the park, one practical question tends to come up for Indian families: what there is to eat. It is worth planning ahead.

Indian buffet lunch: the Savanna Restaurant inside the park runs an Indian buffet, which is unusual for a Thai attraction where the food is normally local. The spread covers dal, sabzi, jeera rice, assorted curries, roti and salads, with separate vegetarian and non-veg sections, so families who don't take to Thai cooking have a reliable meal on site. It is served around the middle of the day, roughly 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and is an optional add-on at the Trip Dust rate. Note that the park does not serve halal-certified food.

Please note: Adult and child packages must be the same option. The Savanna Indian buffet is served around midday only (roughly 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM), and the park does not serve halal-certified food. Safari World is closed on Mondays — we confirm your visit day on WhatsApp.

Quick tips for your trip

  • When to arrive: Get to the gate close to opening, around 9:00 AM, and do the Safari Park drive first, while the animals are more active and the temperature is lower. Across the year, November to February brings the coolest and driest weather. The park is shut on Mondays, so choose any other day.
  • What to wear and carry: Go for light clothing and shoes you can walk in, since the Marine Park involves a fair amount of walking. Bangkok gets hot, so bring a hat, sunscreen and water; drinks are also sold inside if you run out.
  • Photography: Cameras and phones are allowed everywhere. At the Giraffe Feeding Terrace, crouch low and shoot upward as the giraffes lean in. On the Safari Park drive, keep your phone ready at the window, as the tigers and giraffes pass close to the road.
  • How much time to allow: Set aside five to six hours to cover both parks at a comfortable pace and fit in three or four shows. A pre-booked Trip Dust ticket lets you bypass the counter queue and go straight in.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can we get vegetarian or Indian food inside the park?

Yes. The Savanna Restaurant runs an Indian buffet with separate vegetarian dishes (dal, paneer, sabzi, jeera rice, roti, salads) and non-veg options, which works well for families who find Thai food too spicy. It is an optional add-on you select at the time of booking. The park does not, however, serve halal-certified food.

  • Does Safari World work for young children and older relatives?

It does. The live shows hold the attention of children of most ages, and the Marine Park is mostly flat and easy to walk. Older visitors can stay in the vehicle for the whole Safari Park section, and there is shaded seating around the show arenas. Wheelchairs are usually available to rent at the information desk, and we will check this for you on WhatsApp before your visit.

  • Where exactly is the park, and what is the best way to reach it?

Safari World is in the Min Buri district on the eastern side of Bangkok, roughly 40 km (about 45 minutes by car) from the centre. You can reach the park by taxi or private car. Grab and Bolt are reliable options for booking a ride in Bangkok.

  • What should we budget for time, and is any day better than another?

Plan on five to six hours to see both parks and take in three or four shows at an unhurried pace. The park opens every day except Monday, and the weather is most comfortable between November and February. We pass on the current show timings so you can build your day around the ones you care about.

  • Does the ticket include the River Safari Ride?

No, it is a separate add-on rather than part of the standard entry ticket, and you can select it when you book. It is a boat ride of around 30 minutes through a staged jungle with animatronics and lighting effects, and it tends to appeal to both children and adults.
