About this tour
Phuket's Crocodile Farm & Aquarium combines a crocodile farm, a snake show, a small reptile zoo and a walk-through aquarium on a single site, with most of it under cover. It works well when you want a few hours away from the beach, have children to keep occupied, or get caught by one of Phuket's heavy afternoon showers. The pace is gentle enough that older travellers and young children can both follow it without difficulty.
The visit is divided into a few zones and timed shows:
- Live crocodile show. The main draw. Trained handlers work in the pit at close range, and the routine includes the well-known head-in-the-jaws move. Performances run to a fixed daily schedule.
- Aquarium walk-through. An indoor, air-conditioned section where you pass tanks of sharks, rays and tropical and freshwater fish.
- Snake show and reptile zoo. A separate snake performance, alongside enclosures of reptiles and other animals you can look at between shows.
- Photo opportunities. Handlers offer paid photos with baby crocodiles and smaller animals for anyone who wants one.
What to expect from the visit
The whole stop runs to one or two hours, which makes it easy to fit between other things you have planned in town. You see a crocodile show at close range without travelling far or giving up a full day, and the mix of shows and the aquarium gives a group with different ages enough to look at. Several other sights sit nearby, so it slots into a morning or afternoon rather than taking one over.
Who it suits
- Families with children: the shows are loud and dramatic but kept behind barriers, and younger children tend to gravitate to the fish tanks and smaller animals.
- Couples and first-time visitors: a short, low-commitment option for a change from the coast.
- Travellers with older parents: the route is flat and shaded, with seating around the show arena.
- Rainy days: most of the site is roofed, so a shower need not cancel it.

Quick tips for your trip
- When to go: Build your visit around the crocodile show, since that is the part most people come for. Performances follow a fixed daily schedule, so we send the current times over WhatsApp and you choose a slot. Mornings are cooler and less crowded. With most of the site under cover, it also holds up well during the wet months of roughly May to October.
- What to wear: There is no dress code. Light clothing and closed-toe shoes for walking are enough. Keep young children within reach during the live shows and do whatever the handlers ask.
- Taking photos: Photography is allowed across the site. Use your phone's zoom for the crocodiles instead of leaning over the barriers, and follow the handlers during the show. Paid photos with baby crocodiles and other animals are available if you want one.
- How long to allow: Around 1.5 to 2 hours covers a show, the aquarium and the reptile zoo at an unhurried pace.

Frequently asked questions
-
Will children and older parents manage the visit?
Both age groups generally do well here. The crocodile and snake shows are loud and dramatic, but handlers run them with barriers between the animals and the audience, and smaller children usually head straight for the aquarium and the little animals. For older visitors, the route is flat and largely shaded, with seating around the arena. A child who dislikes loud noise is more comfortable a few rows back.
-
Can I get vegetarian or Indian food at the venue?
On-site catering runs to basic snacks and drinks, and there is little in the way of dedicated Indian or vegetarian food. As the visit only lasts 1.5 to 2 hours, most people eat beforehand or bring something with them. Ask us on WhatsApp and we will point you to Indian and veg-friendly places close by.
-
Where is it, and how much time should I set aside?
Allow roughly 1.5 to 2 hours for a show, the aquarium and the reptile zoo. The site sits in central Phuket and is straightforward to reach by Grab, taxi or our optional paid transfer. We send the exact location and the drive time from your hotel over WhatsApp.
-
Am I allowed to take photographs?
Yes, you can take photos anywhere on the site. During the live shows, keep to the handlers' instructions and use your phone's zoom for the crocodiles rather than reaching over the barriers. Paid photos with baby crocodiles and smaller animals are available if you want a posed shot.
-
What time of day is best, and when do the shows run?
The shows follow a fixed daily timetable. Earlier in the day is cooler and less busy, and because most of the site is roofed it still works when it rains. Times do change from time to time, so we confirm the current crocodile and snake show slots over WhatsApp before your visit.
